MONTHLY SURVEILLANCE REPORT A total of 175 notifiable diseases were monitored by the Sentinel Surveillance Staff from 10 different hospital sentinel sites (Brokenshire Hospital, Davao Doctors Hospital, Davao Medical Center, Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital, Davao Regional Hospital, Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital, Limso Medical Center, Medical Mission Group Hospital, Montevista District Hospital and San Pedro Hospital). One hundred thirty-six (77.7%) dengue cases, twenty-two (12.6%) typhoid fever cases, six (3.4%) hepatitis b cases, six (3.4%) leptospirosis cases, three (1.7%) non-neonatal tetanus cases, one (0.6%) malaria case and one (0.6%) rabies case. Among the 175 cases monitored, no fatality noted.Majority of the notifiable diseases monitored were from Davao City (66.9%), followed by Davao del Norte (13.1%), Compostela Valley (7.4%), Davao del Sur (6.3%), Davao Oriental (2.9%), North Cotabato (1.3%), Agusan del Sur (1.1%) and South Cotabato (0.6%).
In Davao City, cases were from the following areas: Talomo District (27 cases), Buhangin District (26 cases), Toril District (14 cases), District B (11 cases), Agdao District (8 cases), Bunawan District (8 cases), Tugbok District (8 cases), District A (5 cases), Calinan District (3 cases), District C (3 cases), District D (2 cases) and Marilog District (2 cases).
Among the diseases monitored, dengue fever ranks first. 56.6% of the cases were Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever while 43.4% were Dengue Fever cases. Seventy-seven (77) were males and fifty-nine (59) were females. Ages of the cases ranged from 4 months to 59 years old with the median age of 10 years. Majority of the cases reported were from Davao City. No fatality noted.
