MONTHLY SURVEILLANCE REPORT A total of 201 notifiable diseases were monitored by the Sentinel Surveillance Staff from 8 different hospital sentinel sites (Brokenshire Hospital, Davao Doctors Hospital, Davao Medical Center, Davao Regional Hospital, Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital, Limso Medical Center, Medical Mission Group Hospital and San Pedro Hospital). One hundred sixty-six (82.6%) dengue cases, fourteen (7%) typhoid fever cases, eleven (5.5%) hepatitis b cases, five (2.5%) non-neonatal tetanus cases, two (1.2%) malaria cases, one (0.5%) hepatitis a case, one (0.5%) meningo case and one (0.5%) rabies case. Among the 201 cases monitored, there were three fatalities noted.
Majority of the notifiable diseases monitored were from Davao City (74.1%), followed by Davao del Sur (9%), Davao del Norte (8.5%), Compostela Valley (4.5%), Agusan del Sur (1.5%), North Cotabato (1.5%), Davao Oriental (0.5%) and Shariff Kabunsuan (0.5%).
In Davao City, cases were from the following areas: Talomo District (52 cases), Buhangin District (36 cases), District B (17 cases), Bunawan District (12 cases), Toril District (8 cases), District A (5 cases), District D (5 cases), Agdao District (4 cases), Marilog District (3 cases), Calinan District (2 cases), District C (2 cases), Tugbok District (2 cases) and Baguio District (1 case).
Among the diseases monitored, dengue fever ranks first. 51.8% of the cases were Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever while 48.2% were Dengue Fever cases. Eighty-two (82) were males and eighty-four (84) were females. Ages of the cases ranged from 6 months to 46 years old with the median age of 11 years. Majority of the cases reported were from Davao City. Three fatality noted.
