MONTHLY SURVEILLANCE REPORT
 
A total of 310 notifiable diseases were monitored by the Sentinel Surveillance Staff from 10 different hospital sentinel sites (Brokenshire Hospital, Compostela Valley Provincial Hospital, Davao Doctors Hospital, Davao Medical Center, Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital, Davao Regional Hospital, Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital, Ricardo Limso Medical Center, Medical Mission Group Hospital and San Pedro Hospital). Two hundred twenty-four (72.3%) dengue cases, thirty-two (10.3%) bacterial meningitis cases, twenty (6.5%) influenza like illness cases, thirteen (4.2%) typhoid fever cases, seven (2.3%) leptospirosis cases, four (1.3%) non-neonatal tetanus cases, three (1%) hepatitis b cases, three (1%) rabies cases, two (0.6%) hepatitis a cases, one (0.3%) acute bloody diarrhea case and one (0.3%) cholera case. Among the 310 cases monitored, there are seven fatalities noted (Dengue, Non-Neonatal Tetanus and Rabies).
 
Majority of the notifiable diseases monitored were from Davao City (70.3%), followed by Davao del Norte (11%), Davao del Sur (6.8%), Davao Oriental (5.8%), Compostela Valley (3.9%), Agusan del Sur (1.3%) and Surigao del Sur (1%).
 
In Davao City, cases were from the following areas: Talomo District (57 cases), Buhangin District (49 cases), Agdao District (24 cases), District C (14 cases), District B (13 cases), District D (13 cases), Bunawan District (12 cases), District A (12 cases), Calinan District (11 cases), Toril District (7 cases), Tugbok District (2 cases), Baguio District (2 cases), Marilog District (1 case) and Paquibato District (1 case).
 
Among the diseases monitored, dengue fever ranks first. 84.8% of the cases were Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever while 15.2% were Dengue Fever cases. One hundred eight (108) were males and one hundred sixteen (116) were females. Ages of the cases ranged from 2 months to 75 years old with the median age of 10 years. Majority of the cases reported were from Davao City. Three fatalities noted.
