MONTHLY SURVEILLANCE REPORT A total of 3,232 notifiable diseases were reported by the 10 Sentinel Surveillance Hospitals from February 1 to 28, 2013. NOTIFIABLE DISEASES IN THE REGION:

Trend
A total of 45 suspect measles cases was reported from the different DRUs (Disease Reporting Unit) in Davao Region from February 1 to 28,2013. This is 9% higher compared to the same period last year. Dengue suspects total to 1,416. Most of the cases came from Davao City (46%). 54% were males. 326 of the cases are from the agegroup 5 to 9 years old. Figure 5 - Dengue suspect cases by agegroup and sex , Davao Region, ACUTE BLOODY DIARRHEA CASES Acute Bloody Diarrhea cases total to 70. 73% of the cases came from Davao City. There are 38 males and 32 females. Most of the cases belong to the agegroup of 40 years old and above, and 5 to 9 years old.

Reports are collected from 27 accredited HIV Testing Laboratories (including blood banks) in the Davao Region. Data collected include confirmed HIV results, positive for Syphilis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Gonorrhea. Also collected are results from testing of blood units in blood banks. Davao Region is one of the five major contributors to the National HIV Registry, sharing 6% in February 2013. As of February 2013, 4 HIV-related deaths have been reported by hospitals. Figure 14.
