ANNUAL SURVEILLANCE REPORT A total of 4,164 notifiable diseases were monitored by the Sentinel Surveillance Staff from 10 different hospital sentinel sites (Brokenshire Hospital, Davao Doctors Hospital, Davao Medical Center, Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital, Davao Regional Hospital, Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital, Limso Medical Center, Medical Mission Group Hospital, Compostela Valley Provincial Hospital and San Pedro Hospital). Three thousand one hundred seven (74.6%) dengue cases, five hundred twenty-nine (12.7%) typhoid fever cases, one hundred forty-eight (3.6%) hepatitis b cases, seventy-nine (1.9%) non-neonatal tetanus cases, fifty-one (1.2%) leptospirosis cases, fifty (1.2%) acute bloody diarrhea cases, fifty (1.2%) influenza like illness cases, forty-six (1.1%) bacterial meningitis cases, forty-two (1%) malaria cases, thirty-five (0.8%) hepatitis a cases, twelve (0.3%) rabies cases, five (0.1%) meningo cases, three (0.1%) non-a non-b cases, three (0.1%) pertussis cases, two (0.04%) hepatitis c cases, one (0.02%) acute encephalitis syndrome case and one (0.02%) diphtheria case. Among the 4,164 cases monitored, there are forty-six fatalities noted.
Majority of the notifiable diseases monitored were from Davao City (72.7%), followed by Davao del Norte (7%), Davao del Sur (5.7%), Davao Oriental (5.6%), Compostela Valley (5.2%), North Cotabato (1.6%), Agusan del Sur (0.8%), Surigao del Sur (0.6%), Bukidnon (0.1%), Sultan Kudarat (0.1%), Sarangani Province (0.1%), South Cotabato (0.1%), Maguindanao (0.1%), Agusan del Norte (0.04%), Southern Leyte (0.04%), General Santos City (0.02), Lanao del Sur (0.02%), Manila (0.02%) and Shariff Kabunsuan (0.02%).
In Davao City, cases were from the following areas: Talomo District (837 cases), Buhangin District (660 cases), Toril District (244 cases), District B (225 cases), Agdao District (226 cases), Bunawan District (188 cases), District A (172 cases), District C (155 cases), District D (104 cases), Tugbok District (82 cases), Calinan District (66 cases), Paquibato District (27 cases), Marilog District (21 cases) and Baguio District (19 cases).
Among the diseases monitored, dengue fever ranks first. 63.7% of the cases were Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever while 36.3% were Dengue Fever cases. One thousand six hundred (1,600) were males and one thousand five hundred seven (1,507) were females. Ages of the cases ranged from 0 day to 89 years old with the median age of 12 years. Majority of the cases reported were from Davao City. Twenty fatalities noted. HOSPITAL
